Alone in the Dark: Inferno Features for PS3

On: PS3Xbox 360PCWiiPS2

Welcome to Heads-up, VideoGamer.com's weekly feature which gives you an at-a-glance run-down on the games you'll be able to buy or rent this weekend. Every Tuesday we'll pick out the best of the bunch, link to our reviews and previews and keep you in the video game loop so you have enough time to pre-order for Friday's post. Time to splash the cash.

Recommendation of the Week: Left 4 Dead - PC and Xbox 360
Co-op survival horror seems like it should have worked a long time ago. Resident Evil: Outbreak tried and failed, but Valve has delivered the goods with Left 4 Dead, its first-person shooter where enemies have a hankering for brains. Don't be thinking you'll be able to mop up the undead with ease just because you've got some buddies with you. These guys run at you like the infected from 28 Days later, so unless you cap them in the head pretty quickly, you'll be lunch.

Recommendation of the Week: Tomb Raider: Underworld - Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii, PS2 and DS
We're in the middle of our latest tomb raiding adventure, but we've already seen enough to know that Lara fans and anyone wanting a game which focuses on exploration over combat will enjoy Underworld. Stunning visuals, tight controls, huge environments and an intriguing storyline combine to make this a worthy entry in one of the most successful series of all time.
