UK Video Game Chart: AvP becomes 2010's fastest-seller

Knocks BioShock 2 off the top spot.

SEGA and Rebellion's Aliens Vs Predator has entered the All Formats All Prices UK video game chart at No.1, becoming 2010's fastest-selling game so far.

BioShock 2, last week's No.1, sees sales drop 71 per cent and slides two places to No.3. Bridging the gap at No.2 is Ubisoft's Just Dance, which recorded a 55 per cent increase in sales over the school half-term week.

Half-term also appears to have given boosts to New Super Mario Bros. Wii (up 59 per cent), and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games (up 76 per cent), although the latter also has coverage of the actual Olympic Winter Games to thank.

The Games also help SEGA's Vancouver 2010 into the Top 40 for the first time, with a huge 274 per cent increase in sales not quite enough for a Top 10 place.

Friday's big release is Sony's PS3 exclusive Heavy Rain, but it won't have everything its own way. Also hitting stores are SEGA duo Napoleon: Total War and Sonic and SEGA All Stars Racing.

we should all be ecstatic really because itl probably make gearbox get a bloody move on with COLONIAL MARINES,due to the success of what is a better than average game.The multiplayer could be a revelation if they could just speed up the aliens and predators kill animations a bit!

Gotta hand it to SEGA, Knocking off bioshock 2.
but the only reason its topped the fastest selling chart is because of all the fan fiction associated with the game along with it coming from a great rang of previous AVP games and movies... it was always going to be a hit no matter how much of a shocking game it may or may not be...

as for my opinion well ill be waiting for my Hunter Edition to come for ps3 today

Meh, meh, meh, meh. Just because it's a faster seller, doesn't mean it's a better game. At least that's what I'm telling my self whilst rocking in a corner.

Good to hear it is doing well. I really wanted to like this but partly for my terrible experience with the demo, and the fact that I will very soon have 2 new games to play through, this will remain a 'down the track' purchase for me. I may just be able to convince myself I like it.
