UK developer Rebellion has revealed it's already in discussions with SEGA about continued support for the recently released Aliens vs Predator and also a sequel to the game.

"We're delighted to see the game shoot to the top of the UK charts," Rebellion co-founder and CEO Jason Kingsley told develop.

"We wanted Aliens Versus Predator to be a critical success as well as a commercial success, which we think we have achieved. We're also in discussions with SEGA about ongoing support for AvP, and also about a sequel to the game," he added.

Kingsley continued: "I won’t say what stage those negotiations are in, but we would love to revisit the franchise. Fox are excited about what we're doing, and we feel we've added value to the franchise."

The UK developer already has ideas for a sequel, explained Kingsley.

"There were a lot of things we couldn’t fit into the original. We are trying to do all the right things to make the franchise a success now and in the future."

AvP is out now on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. See what we thought of it by checking out our review.

You can't deny that the end video in the Predator campaign and at the end of the Marines campaign screamed "SEQUEL". Besides, I've seen a description for "Aliens: Colonial Marines". It won't be half as good as AvP. It won't even have an in game HUD.

I miss the old RTS AvP games, their next release should be like that not another blood, gore, hide in the shaddows, no skill game so everyone is saying

and tbh' they shouldnt be discussing sequals yet because if everyones opinion of this game being, and i quote ''Absolutely wank'' is right all the pre-ordered copies will be on eBay asap.

Forget a sequel to AvP. SEGA need to release Aliens: Colonial Marines.
