SEGA and Gearbox have taken a firm stance in defence of a class action lawsuit brought against them in relation to the shipped version of Aliens: Colonial Marines not matching up to that shown in earlier gameplay demonstrations and marketing.
"SEGA cannot comment on specifics of ongoing litigation, but we are confident that the lawsuit is without merit and we will defend it vigorously," reads a statement from SEGA.
Gearbox followed, taking an even stronger stance against the claims.
"Attempting to wring a class action lawsuit out of a demonstration is beyond meritless," a statement from the studio reads. "We continue to support the game, and will defend the rights of entertainers to share their works-in-progress without fear of frivolous litigation."
