Speaking to 1UP at the Tokyo Game Show last week, Team ICO leader Fumito Ueda revealed that he would like to see both ICO and Shadow of the Colossus released on other platforms.

Asked if we might see ICO and Shadow of the Colossus released for PS3 in a combo pack similar to that of the God of War Collection, Ueda said he's very much in favour of the games being available on PS3 and PSP.

"Initially, I didn't want to consider that," said Ueda. "I always thought they were designed for PS2 and should stay there. But lately, I've been thinking it would be nice to provide the games to other platforms to reach more users."

Much in the same way that the God of War Collection will help to build anticipation for God of War III, an ICO/Shadow of the Colossus bundle could provide the ideal platform from which to launch The Last Guardian.

Exactly matey. I've never been that happy with software BC anyway. I'd be much happier it was built into the hardware even if it did make the console a bit dearer.

Who cares that the how, just make it happen I'd happily pay around £15 for both.

So what are Sony playing at then not making the consoles backward compatable as a matter of course - seems pretty pointless to me!

Mate they already are able for backwards compatibility, Sony and Capcom are bringing back PS2 titles to the PSN store, all they need to do is create and make available a firmware update.

You see, if all PS3s were backwards compatible this issue wouldn't arise!!?

Most probably for new projects but I don't think with ICO or Colossus.

hmmm does this insinuate that he may have plans for other systems and not just the Sony brand?
