The fan campaign to gather 100,000 Facebook likes for Timesplitters 4 has gathered 13,000 likes since it was started at the weekend.

While that's not an insignificant number, the project will need a major shift in momentum if it's to hit its own target anytime soon.

If you'd like to add your vote to the pile, you can do so here.

The campaign to gather support for Timesplitters 4 follows recent comments from Crytek boss Cevat Yerli, who suggested that the game could still be made if fans prove there's a large enough audience.

Yerli recently told VideoGamer that all Crytrek's future games would be free-to-play. If Timesplitters 4 does get developed, it's likely to use that model.

The last entry in the franchise, the originally-named Timesplitters: Future Perfect, was released in 2005 for PS2, Gamecube and the original Xbox.

VideoGamer.com Analysis

Yes, I've already voted. I love those goddamn monkeys.

I'd love to see this game happen, and I always like it when fans try to make something happen – but I'm afraid in this scenario I'm not overly optimistic.
