What matters most is how PES 6 plays, and it plays very nicely indeed. Unless you spend most of your time playing alone, you won't be disappointed by either version, but the 360 game lacks features.

They do seem to have made long shots much harder. I'm getting better at long shots though. I think it just takes practice because of more precision needed and the right player of course. (some hit the ball differently.)
Overall I like it although it's not a Huge improvement over Pro 5, its still good. I've heard the next one is going to be a huge improvement so I'll probably get it.

However, to my disgust PES6 is by far the worst of the series. It is blatantly clear that Konami have spent no time, effort or money developing the game, and are relying on the success alone of previous editions to lure gamers into purchasing this farcically bad title.
The fact that Konami are even allowed to put this dross game on the market let alone the cheek, is quite disturbing. The flaws in this game are plentiful, spanning from the ridiculous to the just plain rude!
Here are just a few (in no particular order)....
1. There is NO 'Create a player' mode. Therefore you cannot create yourself let alone any other characters that you may wish. This is a huge and integral part of any sports sim. The fact that it is missing is just lazy and dam right rude.
2. Unlike the previous PES games there are NO options to Edit team names, league names, stadium names, sponsors or badges. This means that teams like Aston Villa have to remain known as West Midland Village and play in a fake market stall kit at the Catalonia stadium (Nou Camp).
3. The gameplay is appalling! Moving the players around the pitch can best be compared to driving double-decker buses round an ice rink. In this modern era of analogue controls and 360 degree movement, PES limits you to only being able to move the players in 8 directions.
Basically its the same game engine as that used in Sensible soccer on the Amiga (if any of you are old enough to remember the Amiga) and could quite easily be played just using a keyboard. SAD but TRUE!
4. The graphics are poor compared to previous PES editions. Which is just plain wrong considering that it is only available on the Xbox360 which is an upgrade to the Xbox.
All the pitches look like end of season Sunday league pitches which isnt pretty in the slightest.
All the players look like anaemic caricatures of their actual selves! all possessing the same Peter Crouchesque body type and rubbery facial features. Poor Wayne Rooney looks positively ill like he has spent 5 years in a concentration camp.
Why Konami have decided to put a line of sanitary towels behind the goals is beyond me. It just looks stupid and totally unnecessary.
5. After making a substitution there is LAG on the game. Truly PATHETIC!
I dont normally bother writing reviews but felt it was my civic duty to warn the gaming community away from purchasing this horrid creation. As I bought this game myself I feel immense guilt that I have contributed to this type of rot being produced in the future.
If my review just gets through to one reader, and causes them to change their mind from purchasing this foul title, I feel that the time i have spent writing this review has been worthwhile, and that I have done my bit to stop the spread of evil that is PES6.
P.s. The best footy game still is ISS2000 on the N64. Yet with all these new powerful consoles which have been and gone nothing has come even close to topping it. How rank is that??!Last edited on Sat 10 March 2007 by Fillippo Basso

Nice to see someone out there with sense. Someone who has played them all and not just a player who was converted from Fifa.
Fifa has always (well after Fifa 95) fell into that EA category were their games are simply beautiful to look at, with gorgeous intro's and options screens etc etc, yet most lack depth, immersion and playability ....though they sell in their squillions because they can always afford the big license names.
Not that I prefer Fifa over ISS, I dont, though I feel ISS players have been and are being milked in the exact same way now for every penny.
The only changes in each ISS game are cosmetic.
Yes u may hit the crossbar with a lovely shot, though try doing it again (same position same amount of power) and I guarantee you dont get the same result because its all so inconsistant.
PES 6 is better than 5 I have to admit, but overall the same niggling problems exist.
