What matters most is how PES 6 plays, and it plays very nicely indeed. Unless you spend most of your time playing alone, you won't be disappointed by either version, but the 360 game lacks features.

Knoami should be shot for false advertising because there is no way 150 different moves on this edition. However if you cannot pull off the ones that are available, don't call yourself a true player.
Play the game don't let it play you.

I've been following this game from day one (thats ISS deluxe on PS1 for the oldies out there). I left this series on its release for PS2 as I felt that Konami had abandoned all of the good work they had built thus far. I always got to play each game in the series as it came out, and always picked up on the exact same flaws. From PES 1-5 the only real differences in the game were cosmetic, with ofc a few tricks thrown in, though one annoying feature was the inclusion of 'non player movements' i.e. moves the computer would do for you, like ,mega-touches or side-steps and extra touches you never wanted to do resulting in your opponent gaining the ball although apparently, as I am told, adds to the realism, though I was always under the impression that as realistic as this game is it is after all only that, a computer game, and you should have complete control of your player, and the mistakes you make should be of your own doing. Another massive problem inherent in the PS2 PES 1-5 series was what I call 'advantage play' (some people try to ignore/deny this and pretend it doesn't exist but it does) were your team play amazingly for a period of time, everything works for you and the game play feels silky smooth. Suddenly, (usually after a few shots on goal, or a goal) things start to change, the controls become sluggish, your players feel sluggish, the same passes you were doing before go straight to your opponent time and time again, your defenders seem to have a mind of their own at times and the change player button also becomes sluggish or hyper-sensitive. What I have come to notice about advantage play is that it can depend on which team you use, I have learned that some teams can counter how long and how badly you are affected by it.
Shooting is another major flaw from the release of the game on PS2 (though it has never always been consistent), all too often do you see your shots blaze over the bar or trickle along the ground. The power bar is far from consistent; you can often build it up to the maximum within the box and the ball flies into the net without a problem yet when slightly outside the box, same position, you blaze well over. I have come to the conclusion that from certain angles and distance your shot is actually aimed for you, and I find this to be lessened the closer you are. I cant help but feel that the power bar actually works on a simple 3 tier system where anything below the first 1/3 of the bar will result in one kind of shot, anything into the second 1/3 another type and same with the last 1/3-(9 times out of 10 this a full bar results in a blazed effort with the exception of those unexplainable moments I mentioned before where you do this 5 yards from goal-line and you score). So even though you can stop the power bar at almost any point right down to the pixel the actual accuracy and result of the shot depends simply on which third of the tier system you stopped at.
Now onto the passing, right up to the current edition of PES 6 on both Xbox360 & PSP-2 the passing structure has been quite consistent and in-line with its predecessors, with one exception the through ball and through lob, throughout the series it has become harder and harder to execute successfully either of these moves resulting in a goal scoring opportunity, after ISS PES 2 on PS1 the through lob pretty much died a death, time and time again the keeper would get it or it would be simply headed away by a defender, and in PES 5 you could no longer use through lob as a secondary yet more potent cross. Very sad indeed, like I said I gave up on buying this game because I always aired on the cautious side and my conclusions were correct, those who participated in the game were in my eyes simply milked in a very well managed marketing practise, which consisted of Konami releasing the same game each year with only minor, mostly cosmetic improvements, yet the underlying problems always remained, and its taken then over 6 years to move the ideas of ISS PES 2 on the PS1 and apply them to the next-gen consoles? To be quite honest they could have easily made a graphically better version of ISS PES 2 on the PS2 6 years ago, you see what I believe is that each time Konami release another follow-up they usually add something and at the same time take something away (yet never amend the core problems of the game like shooting and intelligent passing + constant interruption of play through poor refereeing) so all in all its taken then until now to get to the game-play level we were at on PS1 (ISS PES 2) and still the same fundamental core problems exist, (advantage play and the seriously inconsistent shooting system) where is the ability to hit low drives from way outside the box? Or power shots with dip you can put a bit of swerve on? Outside of the boot volleys with medium height? Not too much to ask considering they have had 7 years to refine this once great game. Now on next-gen (Xbox360 which has a hard-drive!!) there isnt even a goal save option? No multiplayer option online? No editing system for players? This is the finished product after 7 years of potential refinement, profit, and saved capital from not having to license a thing? Im so glad I didnt buy into it. Now were is my PSP and copy of ISS PES 2?

In addition to this, the PS2 version looks EXACTLY the same as PES5 (but just plays better which wouldn't be hard as PES5 was an embarassment) where atleast 360, altho. not perfect by any stretch of the imagnation, looks fantastic & has tried "successfully" to return to original 'pass & threw ball' mechanism, which is simply more difficult to master! (Rather than the long punt forward of PES4 & 5)
I have been a loyal PES fan since ISS & although without doubt PES 3 has been the best to date, I strongly believe that if you have a 360 (like I do) & are looking for a proper football game then PES6 is it! I am not ignorant to the fact that the game has flaws e.g not enough stadiums & why leave out the PES Shop (which still confuses the sh*t out of me)
...BUT all in all it is f**king miles ahead of FIFA (which is still aload of bollax)!!Last edited on Wed 15 November 2006 by shagnew

I'd played it on ps2 and thought it was great so i thought get it on 360 be the same but with better graphics.
I thought my game was faultly for the lack of options such as edit and pes shop I'm taking it back to hmv tomorrow i'm that annoyed with it. I read on here some people saying wait i'm sure there will be downloads. what great I can pay even more money to download stuff to bring my game up to the ps2 standard! Plus do you seriously think they will make a download for a whole editing section of the game and a pes shop seriousy people that would be the biggest download ever!
All in all one of the worst football games i've played its in the bag waiting to go back to hmv!
