Pro Evolution Soccer 6 Review

What matters most is how PES 6 plays, and it plays very nicely indeed. Unless you spend most of your time playing alone, you won't be disappointed by either version, but the 360 game lacks features.

Played same game on ps2 - much better all round and all the extras. And it's bloody half the price. Won't buy pro evo for the 360 ever again. Reply

If you want to play a decent football game, don't buy an XBox - simple as that. PES6 is absolutely rocking on the PS2, once you get used to it. PES5 was the same, I hated it for months but then it all started to click and I played my Master League for over 12 seasons. This one is definitely better, the games are more realistic and the players intelligence is better. Whoever said otherwise obviously just isn't very good at the game. Give it some time, and practice and you'll regret ever even mentioning FIFA in the same breath. In short, FIFA is for basic people and players who have no skill, and don't understand real football. PES6 is for those who do Reply

ITS CRAP. dont get me wrong, I am a somewhat PES fan, but comparing this with PES 5, this is just crap. WHY? because in this game, unlike PES 5, you can push around/tackle/handle other players all you want without any foul given by the referee! I played with my friend and he was just pushing me off the ball by pressing both the pressure buttons! the movement is not realistic at all. passing is more accurate, like FIFA, pinball passing, but the players are very slow to react and always react slow, player acceleration is slow aswell, star players make negligible difference. Another shitty thing is the shooting, no use of intelligent turns and stuff, coz the player will not shoot accurate unless you give me 10meter radius of free space(sarcasm). Overall, PES 5 is faaaaaaaaaaaaar better and FIFA 07 aswell!!!!!! Reply

I don't know yet feel I only have bought a partially developed game, certain features that are stated in the manual do not exist, i.e. saving a goal from the replay menu e.t.c. There is also additional functionality present on the PS2 and not on the 360?? After waiting for this game for so long I am somewhat disappointed! Why develop a game for the new 7th generation consoles (xbox-360) and release a better game for the 6th generation console (PS2). Please could you acknowledge my query, and if this functionality should be present i.e. saving goals from the replay menu, inform me to what I should do to change my underdeveloped inferior version of PES6; Kindest regards, lavalamp. DISAPOINTING!!!!! » Go to Mikey's original post i have always plated pro evo and loved all versions but pro evo 6 is the biggest bunch of crap that i ever played i mean you wait all year for it to be released from xbox to 360 in which case you expect it to deliver and only to go and pay 40 bucks on a game thats gone backwards, everytime you shoot is like johny wilkinson converting a try if i wanted to do conversions i would have bought a rugby game what a downer but the worst thing is that even thought im not a fifa fan i can honestly say that fifa is actually better than pro evo this year and thats painfull if anyone from konami or envolved in making this game in someway gets to read this you need to fix this game ready for pro 7 or risk losing alot of fans to fifa because it will happen. pro evo 5 kicks ass!!!! 6 bites ass!!!! I recently bought pes6 on the 360 and was promised the world but only got the Isle of Wight. As a pro evo fan, I find myself turning back to fifa for the feeling that I own a next gen console but having great fun with it. I seriously recommend fifa to anyone because it has all the licensing, more stadiums, kits etc. On xbox live it's fantastic. You get real up to date football news from around the world and Radio 5 live news updates whilst playing the game.. You will never need teletext again.. This is what I call next gen.... GO BUY FIFA Reply

FIFA steps its game up a gear, and PES turns round and puts the ball in it's own net. Idiots! More appropriate names; Slow Evolution 6? Or maybe just Pro Regression Soccer? One things for sure, it's more than just the missing options that they're gonna need to sort out. I mean it plays ok, except for the invisible treacle that must be all over the pitch slowing everything down, but the shooting is in a league of crapness all of it's own. If the passing and shooting were any slower they'd be static! Conclusion: Crap!!! Reply
