PES series tops 70 million sales

Konami says the long-running football franchise continues to 'uphold strong repeat sales'.

Konami has announced the sales of its football franchise PES (Pro Evolution Soccer) have now exceeded 70 million units worldwide.

"Winning Eleven (known in the US and Europe as Pro Evolution Soccer) series continued to uphold strong repeat sales, with the accumulated number sold worldwide now exceeding 70 million units," stated Konami in its financial report.

PES 2012 is due to be released on October 14 and is shaping up to be the best the series has seen in many years.

The publisher saw a 3.3 per cent increase in revenue during the first quarter of its 2012 financial year. Also due this year from Konami is bizarre action title Neverdead and the latest game in the Silent Hill series, Downpour.
