Clover Studio to close in March 2007

Capcom has announced plans to close down the studio responsible for Okami, Viewtiful Joe and God Hand.

Clover Studio was created by Capcom to develop creative titles, and has delivered with acclaimed games such as Viewtiful Joe and Okami. However, it seems creating such highly regarded titles just wasn't enough as Capcom has decided to close the studio in March 2007.

"... in view of promoting a business strategy that concentrates management resources on a selected business to enhance the efficiency of the development power of the entire Capcom group, the dissolution of Clover Studio has been raised and passed at a Board meeting," said a statement from the Japanese publisher.

Okami and God Hand and scheduled for release in Europe in 2007.
