Take-Two caught up in Ghost Rider lawsuit

Take-Two, Columbia Tristar, Marvel and many more named in Ghost Rider copyright infringement suit.

Gary Friedrich, the creator of the Ghost Rider comic book character, has filed suit against Sony's Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group, Marvel Entertainment, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Take-Two, producers Relativity Media, Crystal Sky Pictures and Michael De Luca Prods and Hasbro.

Friedrich believes that the Ghost Rider copyrights were reverted back to him in 2001 and cites 21 violations in the suit filed on April 4.

Take-Two's 2K Games acquired the Ghost Rider license from Majesco in 2006 and the game made it to stores for PS2 and PSP in February alongside the release of the film. The motion picture has grossed more than $200 million worldwide.
