As one of the most controversial games of the year - mainly because of its provocative title - Bully, later renamed Canis Canem Edit, has received more than its fair share of press. One area to further stir up debate was the BBFC's decision to award the game a 15 certificate, as many people felt the title should have been given an 18 certificate.

Gianni Zamo, senior examiner for the British Board of Film Classification believes that awarding the game with a 15 certificate was the correct decision.

"You can understand the concerns of a subject that hits the headlines fairly frequently in this country. Often the truth is far less dramatic than the myth that's put around it," Zamo told GamesIndustry.biz.

"It's not just a free-for-all, go out and kick the living daylights out of everybody [game]," highlighted Zamo. "There are penalties for engaging in anti-social behaviour, so I think Rockstar have been careful to balance it out in that respect."
