Everyone and their dog is talking about the 3DS, but I can't seem to keep my head out of my old 2D clamshelll. To be more specific, I'm finding it hard to stay away from Ghost Trick - the new puzzler from Shu Takumi, creator of Phoenix Wright. The central concept is best explained elsewhere (try here), but in a nutshell you play as a poltergeist, manipulating household objects into Mousetrap-like mechanical sequences. The game also features a heroic Pomeranian, a detective who moves like Michael Jackson, and some of the weirdest deaths you'll ever see; at one point someone gets crushed by a giant chicken. The whole thing's underpinned by a very sharp script and some lovely, super-smooth graphics, too.As Martin said in his review, it's possibly a little too easy for its own good, but I'm still having a great time with it.

In-between scrubbing Dead Rising 2 for a few more Achievements, completing Ghost Trick and ridding Metropolis from corporate evil and the unemployed as Businessman in DC Universe Online, I haven't really had much time for games this week. Still, it's been important that I slowly master my skills at Doritos Crash Course, mostly because I love the idea of denying a forum member a potential bounty of 800 Microsoft Points. I'm not particularly worried about losing to the other members of staff - because they're all useless duffers - but Ghost5 is absolutely thrashing everybody right now with an awe-inspiring score. I will beat him. Or it'll just end up like the Pac-Man CE DX one, where I end up tragically floundering in the mid-sections of the leaderboards.

I was raised on the streets. While other children had yo-yos and skateboards, I had cocaine and flick knives. Crime was my mother, and corruption my father, but deep down I knew they weren't my real parents. I was a victim of circumstance; simply born in the wrong place at the wrong time. Although I had to embrace gang culture in order to survive, I knew I was destined for bigger things. Turns out I was right. My name is Isotope, and today I'm an ambassador for hope, for justice. I'm an example to the hundreds of kids that litter the gutters of Metropolis City – you can turn your life around. Evil is easy to fall prey to, however.

Braniac is on his way to Earth, and unless he's stopped, the world as we know it will be dragged into despair and destruction. Thankfully I don't fight the good fight all on my tod. An old pal of mine is just as instrumental in the fight against evil, and answers to the name business man. With my unparalleled skill with a blade (and powers over the elements) and his superhuman knowledge of the stock market, we will change the fate of this world. Don't fear, citizens: you'll be hearing more from us soon...

I was over in New York for a week which means my gaming was limited to that one time I tried to run WoW on my laptop and play it without a mouse. Yes, this is my 29th entry about WoW but when you play an MMORPG the hours begin to get sucked away like they're swirling into some kind of games-based vacuum of Space. Somehow I already feel slightly passé now that I'm back. Kids this month, with their DCUO and their capes. In my day we had Worgen and repetitive questlines and we were happy.

I finished off Fallout New Vegas which was a good way to spend 50+ hours, finished off Enslaved and I've started on GTA 4 Complete Edition.

Finally got aroud to playing some of my MOTY games...

H.A.W.X. 2 - Nope.
R.U.S.E. - Nope.
Shaun White Skateboarding - Nope.
TRON Evolution - Nope.
GT5 Prologue - Took a couple of hours to install (+ updates) but got in eventually and thought it was ok. Will be installing GT5 shortly (or should I say longly?).
ModNation Racers - Still liking it. Easy to dip in and out of.
God of War 3 - Niiiiiice.
Black Ops - Had a final blast. Have now traded it in (for more than I paid for it!).

erm... I think that's all...

Edit: Oh yeah, Dortio's Crash Course. After about 15 mins I managed to get a time of 1m 54s. I know I can do better, but shaving 20 seconds off will be tough.

I've been singing it's praises to my friends. It's not a ground breaking game but if you want to be play a solid FPS then this is perfect. A great combination of some of my favourite FPS's (HL2, Bioshock and Fear) it has a plot and combines action with puzzles. I think it's better then Black Ops by a million miles.

And it was made by Raven who have made some of my favourite games.

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood - There's some serious fundamental issues with this game that keep popping up throughout the game, ones which I hope Ubisoft Montreal(?) fix before the next instalment. The controls are absolutely terrible, I've played it for around 20 hours now probably, and I'll still accidentally kill someone while trying to beat them up, jump the wrong way off a ledge, or just get muddled in general because each of the face button does about 3 things. And just have interact on Y all the time; what's so difficult about that.

Also, the missions are boring and largely broken. If I'm clearing the route ahead for some guards, why not let me run as far ahead as I WANT TO and get it done well in advance instead of the game forcing me to leave it until the last minute and rush it? This happens lots of times, and it's a god damn stupid idea. So is falling behind the target. They're on my radar, I know where they are, just let me deal with it aight? I have more things to complain about, but this isn't the 'complain about AssCreedBro' thread :D

Lara Croft: GoL: Finished off the SP game, very good and enjoyed it.

Doritos Crash Course: Just Can't get below 1.34 :(

Dead Rising 2: No way I can do a perfect run in my first play though, but its so much fun. And wow you can't get any games of TIR

NFS:HP: Been trying to beat my own times for a comp, seems I cant but hopes are high I'll be though to the next round.

Fifa 11: Stole it from a mate at work, better take it back today or my life wont be worth living if they can't play it on lunch.

Silent Hill 2 - I'm only about an hour into it, but from what I have played it is really good. I've caught my first glimpse of the orignially named, Pyramid Head and I am looking forward to playing it some more.

Dragon Age - I've really gotten back inot Dragon Age this week, playing Awakening and some of the DLC. Awakening was better than expected and there was a lot of content, but I'm glad that I didn't pay £32 for it.

Game Dev Story - Just for the sake of it really, something to do before going to bed, I now have around £10 billion but I have no idea what else I can do in the game.

Spare Parts - From the 30 minutes that I've played it seems like a simple little... platformer? Third person action game? What ever you want to call it, it seems quite good, especially with only a £8 price tag.

Mass Effect 2 - No, I wish that I had been playing that this weekend however, the Cerburus code that came with it had already been redeemed.

I really want to try out Ghost Trick.

I've been playing Casltevania, which I've finished now (what a twist!), Final Fantasy IX and Little Big Planet 2.

I hope Mass Effect 2 drops in price soon, I'm eager to play it but I don't want to pay full price only for it to drop the day after.

Been playing a lot of FIFA 11 and Dead Space. Finished Dead Space yesterday and I truly loved every second of it. Looking forward to Dead Space 2 this Friday.

Today I have been playing Duke Nukem 3D and Manhattan Project. Yes, I purchased Manhattan Project and I am fully enjoying it. If it was FPS then it would get more praise but it does hold its own.

I've played very little, due to a busy week and a brilliant long weekend in the South West. However, I'll be straight back on the horse tomorrow with some Batman AA and then Band Dero full kit should turn up Tuesday so I'm sure to be drumming like crazy the rest of the week :)

You can still pick up Oblivion, just don't play it the same way I do (I like levelling stuff, not necessarily levelling up).

Wow...and i was thinking of picking this up after I played the demo of Divinity 2 today, which i was somewhat impressed with. but you've just made it sound like i think i'll pass. I still have Resonance of Fate to finish and MvC3 is out in a couple of weeks.

I haven't really been playing much lately, not much time.

I gotta wait a few more days for Two Worlds II, so I needed a fix, and found it in Oblivion which I happily overpaid for and downloaded from the 360 Marketplace.

It took an hour or so to download that and The Shivering Isles (figured I might as well get those cheevos too) but as soon as that title music kicked in I was hooked again. I spent the next 8 hours jumping up and down in the same spot to level Acrobatics.

Some people use rubberbands and other shennanigans with their controllers to do this automatically whilst they sleep, but where's the fun in that? I'm going to spend the next few days swimming around in circles to level Athletics, and I'm going to love every minute of it.
