Former GM battles against Blizzard.
A lawsuit has been brought down on Blizzard Entertainment by former World of Warcraft GM Amanda Lewis for the use of her voice as the MMO's baby murloc character.
Lewis failed to receive compensation or credit for the work, according to the lawsuit summary available on Courthouse News Service.
"The appealing style and original content of Amanda's vocal work was recognised by Blizzard, which used Amanda's voice and an original song she developed to give life and personality to creatures known as baby murlocs.
"Murlocs are a type of aquatic humanoid creature common in WoW, and baby murlocs are a friendly and appealing version of murlocs that appear in various quests and are available as special player-owned 'pets.'"
The game's baby murloc is a companion pet that can be gained as a quest reward.
While the game goes through its legal battle, Blizzard at the very least can expect the successful launch of its Italian-language version of World of Warcraft.
