Blizzard warns against copying WoW
It's not what players are looking for says producer Shane Dabiri.
Speaking to PC Zone, Blizzard lead producer Shane Dabiri has given some advice to all those attempting to create the next big MMO - don't attempt to emulate World of Warcraft.
"There are a lot of people that try to emulate World of Warcraft - and as flattering as that is our end it's definitely not the right move," said Dabiri.
The reason being that players of World of Warcraft don't want to be doing the same things in another MMO. They want a new experience.
"I think the industry needs to move in that direction to come up with some innovative new MMOs that are trying really different things. Take City of Heroes - at least that's something that's not a fantasy game," Dabiri explained.

Does Dabiri have a point? Are rival MMOs failing because they don't offer anything new to the MMO player? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
