Welcome to Heads-up, VideoGamer.com's weekly feature which gives you an at-a-glance run-down on the games you'll be able to buy or rent this weekend. Every Tuesday we'll pick out the best of the bunch, link to our reviews and previews and keep you in the video game loop so you have enough time to pre-order for Friday's post. Time to splash the cash.
Recommended: Trine - PC
Trine isn't quite the deep thinking puzzle platformer we were expecting, but it's a very solid mix or physics-based puzzles and action platforming. The three-character gameplay mechanic works really well and it's rather beautiful to look at too. We're not overly keen on the three-player multiplayer mode, preferring to play alone through the campaign, but platformer fans with a decent PC should definitely give this a look. If you don't have a PC that's up to the job, look out for the PS3 version on PSN in the near future, and hopefully a port to XBLA too.
Worth a look The Conduit - Wii
SEGA and High Voltage's Wii exclusive FPS has gained an awful lot of hype thanks to its visuals, but behind that there's a sci-fi shooter. We've yet to play through the final game, but numerous hands-on sessions over the last few months have left us thinking quite highly of the multiplayer and somewhat mixed about the campaign. Look out for a full review soon, but Wii owners who have been awaiting The Conduit's release will more than likely find the game well worth a look.
