Iocaine Studios has announced that ThreadSpace: Hyperbol, the studio's first title, is to be released for PC this summer as a digital download through Atari.

The game is set in the distant future and players will compete in a persistent universe, taking control of massive ships capable of firing over 30 unique projectiles in battlefields of up to 16 players online.

Players will have the ability to acquire new ships and customise them to suit their playing style.

"After the excitement of being a finalist in the Independent Games Festival, we reworked the game a bit and brought it to the next level," commented Jason Fader, president of Iocaine Studios. "We've worked incredibly hard and believe in this game. This all started with just four guys working out of my dining room, getting by on the money we saved up from our day jobs - thanks to Atari, a small team like ours is able to get noticed and show the world what we can do."
