Free week in Middle-earth

Codemasters offers European gamers one week of free access to Lord of the Rings Online.

It's been confirmed by Codemasters that a free week trial to Lord of the Rings Online will begin tomorrow, giving newcomers the chance to sample life in Middle-earth in the hope many will opt to take out a full subscription.

Although a trial, the character levelling and game progress made can be carried forward once a full membership is activated, meaning any effort isn't wasted.

The new trial comes just after the release of Book 10, itself following the release of Book 9. All this means that there's now much more to get on with in Middle-earth than at the game's launch.

Those wishing to take Codemasters up on the offer should head over to the official LOTR Online website and download the considerable client - some 3.9GB.
