Test Drive Unlimited PC patch coming in June

Patch to include two new cars: the Audi RS4 and Nissan Skyline R34.

Atari has today announced that to ensure gamers are given the highest quality Test Drive Unlimited experience, the scheduled Test Drive Unlimited patch will now be released in mid-June.

The main issues addressed in the patch are corrupted game saves, freezing/crashing at save points and performance problems.

As a bonus, the PC patch will include two brand new cars: the Audi RS4 and Nissan Skyline R34.

Firstly they release an extremely buggy verging on unplayable game to the public, five months after the Xbox360 release. Then they tell us it (the patch) will be available in May sometime...which by the way is really overdue, especially for a game so buggy. Now its happening mid-june, and after releasing 4 or so carpacks for the 360 version, giving them a total of 25 vehicles free...they can only muster up 2 cars for the PC players. Piss off Atari! By the time you do eventually get around to helping us out, nobody will care about the game anymore. Reply

DzD	0 0 In response to Article » Go to 's original post i agree with GaryBusey,this is long and takes the piss. also for ppl who have already completed the game its not gonna add anymore gameplay apart from two feeble cars, and neither of them are a RUF so it means ANOTHER car-addon after this patch, whenever the ** they decide to release it. this is the buggiest game ive ever owned, half unfinished car interiors and exterior buildings, roads that damage your ride for no reason on courier missions, and the worst being performance issues and corruption issues, not to mention the fact we still cant play online yet. if it wasnt gonna be finished on time then they should have just pushed it back like EA did with Crysis. im running TDU on an EVGA 8800GTX 768mb @ 600/2000mhz + OC-2.7ghzAMD4000 + 4GB-OCZ PLATINUM 3200 @ 450mhz + NF4 DFI SLI-DR Expert mb on WINXPX64SP2 @ 1880 x 1400 res/21" CRT Dell p1110.if you understood what i just said as many others already do, then you should know a system spec lower than mine should still easily run TDU without any performance issues. i have intermitant lags, freezes and artifacts in my game, meaning i could be driving at 240mph and suddenly it will stutter/stop for a few seconds before resuming and hence i crash 99% of the time in those situatons.these problems have taken the fun out of the game in my opinion, i mean i worry eveytime i play il be shoved 50% back in progress and will have to start fresh, again, for the second time. bottom line is, they shouldnt have released it unfinished/unstable because thats what it is, and the patch should have been with us TIME ago as they knew what they had done."As a bonus, the PC patch will include two brand new cars: the Audi RS4 and Nissan Skyline R34"...as a bonus? how about as standard? and wheres the damn lexus? this **ing game... It's the 1st test drive that was worth playing since TD1 on my XT. I'ts an NFS killer, were it not for the bugs in the game. The only thing that I'm really pi''''ed about is the patch delay. Its' not may, its nearly july and no word of any official patch release date. Can't they just say it will be finished by the 22nd of march 2010 or something. I wowed that I won't play the game until I got the patch. Reply

Guess what.... it's unplayable, even on the lowest settings. Test Drive Unlimited? Unlimited what? Misery? To give you some idea of how this game plays for me, imagine that in real life you're driving down the street. Drink some whisky - a bottle and-a-half to two bottles should do the trick. Now, imagine that you suffer from epilepsy or some other condition that causes you to black out, or that you've been hypnotised at some point in your life and the hypnotist told you to fall asleep for 6 seconds everytime you ever pass a street light. Okay, so now we're drunk, which explains the all-or-nothing steering controls, and we're also blacking out at the wheel every god damn nanosecond, waking up to a brand new perspective each time as we head off in some unknown and unplanned direction, often to a chorus of car horns. Quite possibly the worst game I've ever seen. Atari should stick to what they do best - going bust! Reply

animal	0 0 In response to Article » Go to 's original post first of all... i am from germany so sorry for my bad english... i don't really understand you. anders... you clearely cannot run the game on such a system. i think you've missed the sence of unlimited. it's really crap that they are keeping the community waiting so long for the patch. but i guess when the first patch is ready you're all going to relax again. and this patch is even the beginning... nobody ever said that no further patches are following. maybe we'll get 10 or 15 new cars in the second patch. so everybody calm down!!! Now bout this 1st patch... i myself, and another 100000 players are having these performance probs.... and atari knows that....and yet they need more than 2/3 months (or more, we dont know :S) to get us the patch... So i hope that this patch would solve these probs at least..... and then we all will chill :D Sorry my disgraceful english :P Reply
