Firefly Studios has told VideoGamer.com that it plans to start work on Stronghold Crusader 2 and Stronghold 3 after its new Xbox 360 and PC action game Dungeon Hero is released around spring next year.
Speaking at a combined Stronghold Crusader Extreme/Dungeon Hero event in London recently, Firefly co-founder Simon Bradbury said that while the studio was "not quite ready to deliver" on Crusader 2, it will make the game, as well as Stronghold 3, "in due course".
Bradbury said: "We've had a lot of people asking us for Crusader 2, but we're not quite ready to deliver on it yet. We love Crusader. I like playing that game myself a lot, it's my favourite one of the series. But we're not quite really there for it yet."
When asked when if he had any hints for when the studio, which has sold four million in the Stronghold series to date, would start work on the two new games, Bradbury replied: "Certainly we'll be looking at Dungeon Hero first, which will be out in Spring of next year, ish, and I would think if we were to start off work in earnest on Stronghold, the next iteration, it would be after that. So, that's as much as I know!"

-***multiple stockpiles and the ability to dedicate certain people to use certain ones.***
-same for armories.
-guards to protect them - but can be overrun by bandits.
-ability to clear cut areas of woodland.
-multiple level walls and the ability to add floors between them.
-get rid of the cookie cutter stronghold - make that part of the build up or allow it to be upgraded over time.
-individual unit housing(I like the idea above about night some of the time). Special housing perks can be given to increase productivity or soldier strengths.
-individual tax rates(unit productivity perk).
-more dynamics for the estates
--allow better castles/walls to be built up on them.
--allow them to revolt if there is not enough military presence or too unhappy.
--allow them to join enemy forces if they are overrun and continue on to the next estate towards the stronghold.
--empty estates can house small moving bandit camps that steal from stockpiles/armories.
-dynamic attacks - at any point in time you should be able to pick how many of what types of bad guys are going to attack.
-UPGRADES, UPGRADES, UPGRADES

I am very excited to hear about the coming release and have dozens of ideas which I would love to e-mail to you. Please could you send me an email adress for the right department to liznathan@btopenworld.com ? I would be very grateful.
Idea 1: Day and night....at night (possibly lasting about about 5-10mins for day-your choice) the peasants return to their hovels and troops on guard return to their barracks to sleep. (perhaps the lord as well??) This would create the perfect oppurtunity for suprise attacks....not so many gurds to resist. (prehaps the soldiers in the castle could be called to arms by a bell or horn after the alarm is raised??) I and a group of close friends have many more ideas. Please e-mail me.

I could not agree with you more. I have thoroughly enjoyed the stronghold series but have always wished they would focus more on building the castles to the consumers desires and not standard focuses. I realize much more would need to be done in order to provide this but I really feel this would be a huge asset to the game. So much more use of the players creativity. When I played one of the previous games I felt as If i was only a director of the game and not 'involved' in the game. As an older generation player, I wnat to be consumed by the game and not just play the game to win!!!
