Stronghold 3 and Crusader 2 coming at some point

Both games will happen, but Firefly needs to finish Dungeon Hero first.

Firefly Studios has told VideoGamer.com that it plans to start work on Stronghold Crusader 2 and Stronghold 3 after its new Xbox 360 and PC action game Dungeon Hero is released around spring next year.

Speaking at a combined Stronghold Crusader Extreme/Dungeon Hero event in London recently, Firefly co-founder Simon Bradbury said that while the studio was "not quite ready to deliver" on Crusader 2, it will make the game, as well as Stronghold 3, "in due course".

Bradbury said: "We've had a lot of people asking us for Crusader 2, but we're not quite ready to deliver on it yet. We love Crusader. I like playing that game myself a lot, it's my favourite one of the series. But we're not quite really there for it yet."

When asked when if he had any hints for when the studio, which has sold four million in the Stronghold series to date, would start work on the two new games, Bradbury replied: "Certainly we'll be looking at Dungeon Hero first, which will be out in Spring of next year, ish, and I would think if we were to start off work in earnest on Stronghold, the next iteration, it would be after that. So, that's as much as I know!"

jim	1 0 In response to Article » Go to 's original post stronghold saderx is pretty hardcore in sader 2 or stronghold 3 make lots MORE special powers that u activate from the power bar i found them really cool also have it as an option so u dont HAVE to use it during play, incase u want a straight game stronghold is so fun and almost never gets old... funner than aoe or other 2d rts's Reply

Luke	0 0 In response to Article » Go to 's original post nah you wouldnt want special powers.. the game is based on medieval warefare and castle simulations.. adding special powers would be starting to head along the lines of some other game, though im not sure of its name =S with the tools/technology these days, making stronghold 3 with the advanced graphics these days would be totally awesome as, theres so much that they can do! Don't add magic and fantasystuff. Use all your strength on buildings and units and an editor to make scenarios! Please :-) Reply

But adding new buildings and units would be super, improwments to castle building would be nice too, like chance the height of the wall and towers would be great. Oh and changeable armor of units like archer with leather armor, but with different cost than regular archer. Reply

Curt	0 0 In response to Article » Go to 's original post Keep the same gameplay and 2d simulation as strongholdI and crusader.. -----StrongholdII came out too polished in its 3d style and it just doesn't function as well as the classics although the larger variety of buildings, towers, units, ect in SH2 made castle building a little cooler. If the same graphic design can just be sharpened and tweaked enough to come out clearer and deeper, and the gameplay stays about the same, SH2 could be sick! Reply
