The chances of upcoming PC and Mac RTS StarCraft 2 coming to console are "very close to zero", Blizzard has said.

Speaking to VideoGamer.com at Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany, executive vice president of product development and Blizzard co-founder Frank Pearce said that a console version of the hotly anticipated StarCraft 2 would be "a different experience" on account of the speed of the game.

In recent years EA has begun bringing the popular Command & Conquer series to the Xbox 360, and a number of high profile console exclusive RTS games are in the works, including Halo Wars and EndWar.

However, it appears likely that Blizzard will not be following suit, with Pearce admitting it would be "difficult" to unify the console and PC communities online.

When asked if StarCraft 2 could ever come to consoles, Pearce replied: "It's not something we're specifically planning for right now. The development team is working on the game and the interface with the PC and the PC interface peripherals in mind."

He added: "It would be a different experience. It would be difficult to unify those communities online because of the difference in the peripherals. So our focus right now is to make it a PC game. The chances of us taking it to the consoles are, I wouldn't say they are zero, but they are very close to zero."

Umm, why not just get a decent PC?
And most games for consoles doesnt even support mouse and keyboard, specially FPS games, which does indeed suck.. I aint wasting my money on FPS games for consoles when the PC version costs half the price, and its sooo much better using mouse and keyboard.. Same with RPG/RTS, it just doesnt feel right playing on a console - even with mouse and keyboard. Most people got their consoles to a TV anyway, may make it difficult using mouse and keyboard (depends on their setup ofc)
IMO.

most consoles have usb ports. Why not just attach a mouse and keyboard and make it a pc. In the past i may have agreed but i think my ps3 is on par with my computer which is less then a year old.

Ofc its a different experience, playing RTS/RPG on consoles is like playing CoD4 on PC with a carwheel.
