New Blizzard project announcement coming soon

World of Warcraft creator, Blizzard, will announce a new product at the Worldwide Invitational on May 19.

In response to questions regarding rumours of StarCraft 2, Blizzard has confirmed to Kotaku that a new product will be announced on May 19.

"We do intend to announce a new product at the Worldwide Invitational next month in Korea, and we appreciate the enthusiasm and interest in getting an advance look at what that will be, but players will have to wait until May 19th to find out more," reads the official Blizzard response.

Although not wanting to announce anything at this time, Blizzard also confirmed that it will be returning to the StarCraft universe in the future.

"... we have a very strong connection with the characters and settings of StarCraft, and we do plan to revisit that universe at some point in the future, but we don't have anything new to announce in that regard at present."

May 19 can't come quick enough.
