Ubisoft has announced that Xbox 360 and PC title Splinter Cell: Conviction has been delayed and will no longer be released in the publisher's third fiscal quarter (October 1 - December 31, 2009).

The publisher has stated the game will now be released during its fourth fiscal quarter, meaning a release date at some point between January 1, 2010 and March 31, 2010.

Yves Guillemot, Chief Executive Officer, stated: "We are disappointed that we have to postpone the release of several major games but we consider that this choice is the best one in the long-term interests of Ubisoft."

I'd much rather a realistic release date set from the start if there's a possibility of set backs shut up. Wait until your certain the game will be ready then give an absolute answer.

The way things are going this Christmas will be extremely quiet as far as gaming goes on all consoles with setbacks on mostly all.

This whole exclusives argument that keeps poping up on every thread going is getting really boring - I keep getting serious De Ja Vu reading the same BS over and over again!

The delay can only be good - it's much better than getting an unfinished game which needs constant patching.

God. Funking. Dammit.

This was my most anticipated game of the year after everything else I genuinely cared about slipped to 2010. Now every game I want to play is being released next year instead. Guess that puts New Super Mario Bros Wii at the top of my list =\

microsoft have barely any new ips that was there one downfall for their E3 annoucements. L4D2 is a continuation on a franchise and so is forza 3 nothing really to look forward to in 09 because both games will most likely have the same mechanics as their predecesor. I think this year will definetly be a good year for sony even though there also isnt that many new ip's coming out this year either no thanks to Heavy Rain which is now scheduled for 2010.

As the number of exclusives which have been delayed and moved seem to be alot less then in recent years when lead up to Christmas has seen quite a significant number of exclusives.

So therefor the focus will be on the mulitiplatform titles.

Ratchet n Clank, Uncharted 2, Forza 3 Halo odst gta ballad of are the main exlusives that spring to my mind.
