Spider-Man 2 was a pretty decent Spider-Man experience, but since then Activision hasn't exactly made the most its friendly neighbourhood superhero. According to Activision CEO Bobby Kotick the games have, to put it bluntly, "sucked".

"Our Spider-Man games have sucked for the last five years," Kotick told Game Informer in a recent interview. "They are bad games. They were poorly rated because they were bad games."

He added: "We went away from what is Spider-Man. It's about web-slinging. If you don't do web-slinging, what is the fantasy of Spider-Man?"

Activision has long-term license agreements for the Spider-Man franchise so fans can only hope future Spidey titles suck a bit less.

Yeah I enjoyed all the spidey games to varying degrees. Web of Shadows had a brilliant camera lock on system that let you do some seriously cool aerial acrobatics. I reccomend to Spidey fans even though it's fundamentally a flawed game.

They have though - I think Ultimate Spiderman on the Xbox was the last one I enjoyed. But a PR manthat tells the truth is a bit odd :shifty:

NoooOOOooooo!!! Also somebody at Acti REALLY needs to hire this man a PR to filter out phrases like "Our Spider-Man games have sucked".
