Despite its growing popularity, downloadable games still don't sit right with gamers that miss the sight of a game box on a shelf. It's for this group of gamers that Telltale Games together with JoWooD are to release Sam & Max Season One at retail. Obviously it's also a chance for those yet to enjoy the first season to see the game in stores and buy it.
The retail package will include all six episodes from Season One, plus a host of bonus content: a full-sized printed poster featuring artwork by Sam & Max creator Steve Purcell, an all-new Sam & Max Behind the Scenes video, trailers for all six episodes, previously unreleased character bios, loads of concept artwork, desktop wallpapers, an MP3 soundtrack sampler and access to other Sam & Max goodies.
"The retail release will reach a wider audience than ever and combined with Telltale's recent announcement of Sam & Max Season Two, we anticipate the already huge fan base of Sam & Max to grow exponentially!" said Albert Seidl President and CEO for the JoWooD Group.
Sam & Max Season One will be released across Europe on September 5. Season 2 is scheduled to begin in the autumn.
