Following an initial announcement which contained very little in the way of information, Ubisoft has today released some new details about its upcoming next-gen sequel Rainbow Six Vegas 2.

Multiplayer will once again have a huge importance in the game, this time promising more seamless co-op play integration (a second player will be able to join another player's single-player campaign at any time), more intense face-offs, more rewards and improved matchmaking. In total Vegas 2 will feature 13 new maps.

Player customization has also been enhanced, with a single character used across single-player and multiplayer modes. This means the benefits earned from either mode can be utilized in whichever mode you're playing.

Enemy AI is said to me much improved, offering players a much deeper challenge than in the previous title. Now terrorists are equipped with thermal vision, night vision and shields. To combat the increased enemy threat players will have a host of new weapons at their disposal, 11 in all, new camouflage, clothing and gear.

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is scheduled for release in March for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
