Helldivers 2 remains extremely popular but, as with every multiplayer game, there are some issues that even the developers admit. While there are always complaints about underpowered weapons or about new armor, fans have been complaining for a while about the deadliness of fire. Fortunately, Arrowhead has confirmed that a fire nerf/rework is in development to stop Helldivers 2 players ‘dying in 2 secs’.
Arrowhead does a great job interacting with the community. Unfortunately, the CEO has confirmed on Twitter that a customization feature fans desperately want is never coming to the game. In better news though, Arrowhead has confirmed that new armor will be fixed following feedback from a total of 58,000 players about the new warbond.
While the above are recent examples of interaction between the devs and playerbase, there’s also the good news that fire will be reworked. This should have fans jumping with joy as fire has been way too ‘ridiculous’ as admitted by Arrowhead.
Helldivers 2 dev reveals fire rework is coming
Helldivers 2 community manager, Twinbeard, has confirmed on the game’s official Discord that a fire nerf/rework is in development. In response to complaints and queries about fire, the community manager stated that Arrowhead is implementing changes to ‘fire as a whole’.
The community manager specially mentions changes such as ‘DPS, DOT, the host thingie, not dying in 2 secs from just touching it etc.’. In addition, the community manager admitted that fire at the moment is ‘ridiculous’ and something that needs to be changed.

We have previously reported that fire needs to be nerfed, so this news should be largely welcomed by the community. There’s no timeframe for when the whole fire system will be fixed, but the community manager’s posts imply they will ‘Prolly [be] introducing fixes in parts’.
