Operation Flashpoint will be supported with new DLC in a "matter of weeks", the game's executive producer Sion Lenton has revealed.

"We’ve got some very ambitious plans with DLC – our first pack is coming up in a matter of weeks," Lenton told the Telegraph. "We’ll also have title updates coming up because once the game’s out there, we’ll need to get feedback from the people who are playing it, and if need be make a few adjustments and tweaks."

Lenton believes getting a game into stores is now just the beginning.

"It’s a really different type of market now; I remember five or six years ago, you’d get a game, finish it, put it back on the shelf and that was it," explained Lenton. "But now it’s almost as though the game’s release is just the beginning, really. Ours is a game that lends itself very well to expansion – there will be weapons packs, map packs – all sorts of things we can do to get our product out there."

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising is out now for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Check out the VideoGamer.com review for more details.

well heres an idea, fix the damage model so bullets actually damage the enemy in the limbs you shoot them or at least react to being shot and what happened to the custom mission editor from the original, you made a huge game map but id only traversed a tiny part of it by the time i completed the paltry campaign in 6 hours, pointless,in the first game you could set up different scenarios with no time limits in different parts of the map and choose your weapon setup, ambushing convoys with mines while sniping from a hillside for instance, its what made the first title so great for crying out loud

it would have to be free as i won't be paying for weapons packs . This game is gr8 but the poor menu system has made it awful so an add-on a few wks after would need to be cheap or free to at least keep interest .
