New off-road racer utilises Unreal Engine 3

Latest instalment in the popular 4x4 Off Road series coming to PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.

Avalon Style Entertainment, a leading Russian developer, has announced it has licensed Epic Games' Unreal Engine 3 to develop the latest instalment in its popular 4x4 Off Road racing simulation series for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.

4x4 Off Road III will be published by 1C Company and will feature realistic off-road tuning with the ability to modify parts. Driving will often require players to use items including winches, car jacks, air compressors, differential locks and more. What Avalon hopes will set the game apart from other 4x4 off-road racers is the inclusion of trial-based races in which players must use problem solving skills to traverse mud puddles and scale massive heaps of rock.

"Epic's Unreal Engine 3 is at the forefront of multiplatform game development," said Vyacheslav Gordeyev, CEO of Avalon Style. "The technology has been successfully used in many critically acclaimed titles, and we feel fully armed to make the first off-road driving simulator on Unreal Engine 3 thanks to its built-in vehicle support, powerful PhysX system, and many other leading edge features."

Why post a game that has no release date ?

This post is nearly 2 years old and still no sign of it !!!

What a total disappointment this game sounded great and just what I was looking for !!!

Can we get some update on this ?

I have waiting for a real 4x4 game and u guys seem to have it. But i hope it has free mode to explore all over the world not just races. I know a lot of people that play gta 4 and we find trails to go on. and i hope its not fake graphics real as possible. if the graphics are like gta 4 that would rock or better. I would like test the game to be a jugg on it. I know their is limits to how nice things are look on the game. But us mudders wanna 4x the hell out of that game.
