On: PC

Welcome to Heads-up, VideoGamer.com's weekly feature which gives you an at-a-glance run-down on the games you'll be able to buy or rent this weekend. Every Tuesday we'll pick out the best of the bunch, link to our reviews and previews and keep you in the video game loop so you have enough time to pre-order for Friday's post. Time to splash the cash.

Recommendation of the Week: The Club, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC
It was a tough call this week, deciding between SEGA's The Club and Capcom's Devil May Cry 4. Both games offer an almost non-stop barrage of action and buckets of fun, but for us it's the originality that Bizarre Creations has infused into the third-person shooter genre that gives The Club the slight edge.

The Club comes from the creators of the Project Gotham Racing series and it really shows, offering gamers a highly polished action experience that remains compelling without any real story. Instead the game presents a series of challenges set across eight locations, in what feels like an action interpretation of the challenges found in the excellent racing series. It won't be for everyone, but those with an addiction for beating high scores are in for a real treat.

Also out this week
Devil May Cry 4, Xbox 360, PS3: As I've already said, this could easily have been our recommendation of the week. Those that have enjoyed the demo will have a pretty good idea of what to expect, with over-the-top action and hordes of enemies being the order of the day. The game can be played as a straight up button basher if you wish, but the most reward will come from learning all the moves on offer. There's plenty of replay value too, despite no sign of any multiplayer game modes.

Turok, Xbox 360, PS3: OK, the demo wasn't up to much, but the full game - not set in a pitch black cave - is much more enjoyable. It's certainly not up there with the best shooters available, but it does rank as the best dinosaur-based FPS since the first few Turok titles that graced the N64.

Conflict: Denied Ops, Xbox 360, PS3, PC: As with Turok, Eidos' latest in the Conflict series isn't going to win any awards but gamers looking a cooperative FPS should find something to enjoy here. We're hard pushed to recommend it to lonesome players, but if you've got a buddy next to you on the couch or online it's certainly worth a look.
