BioWare senior manager teases with Mass Effect 2 details.
Speaking to VideoGamer.com at EA's Guildford HQ yesterday, BioWare's Senior Manager Matt Atwood shed some light on Mass Effect 2, teasing us with how brilliant the game will be.
"How will it correlate to Mass Effect, the original? There's a lot of really exciting answers to that question. I think that people are going to be blown away," said Atwood. "I've learned some of the things. I don't mean to tease people. The teams are just so brilliant and the story writing is so good that straight out from the beginning of Mass Effect 2, people are going to be in awe."
And what about the story of the second game? Atwood confirmed that Mass Effect 2 would continue the story and that it won't be a prequel.
"The story was always written as an arc, so they are meant to stand alone as great games to play individually, but even better if you play them all, because you get the entire experience, and there are quite a few twists - there'll be quite a few things that people will not expect."
Gamers wanting to know how your crew and characters will be carried over to the sequel will have to wait a little longer for the info, but Atwood did reassure us that BioWare is working on it.
"As far as keeping your crew, and keeping your characters, and bringing them into Mass Effect 2, I don't want to get that specific with regards to what will happen, but I will tell you that things you did and people you interacted with in Mass Effect... you may very well meet up with them again, whether it be the main character or other characters. Other characters take on more significant roles and there's plenty of folks you haven't met yet."
Matt was also kind enough to demo the PC version of Mass Effect. For all the details on what's been changed in the port from 360 to PC head over to our full Mass Effect PC first-look.

Wicked news VG thank you so much!!! I was hoping that the story would continue, seeing as the reapers are the most dangerous races. Well created the universe if you have played the first Mass Effect then you would know were I am coming from. I shall be getting this when it comes out, I hope they would make the storyline more longer. And the AI's to be more difficult, and they could try and flank you.

Sounds great, loving the whole universe they've created, it's like a whole new version of our favourite galaxy far far away only shinier...
Loving the in depth storylines too though could do with some more extra content like books and comics to broaden the experience...
Defiinitely pre-order worthy, damn out comes the credit card again!
I just hope they change that annoying item pickup option, where you can only destroy new items if you're inventory is full already rather than getting rid of old items... Hint hint ;)

I've playing video games since the video game revolution's beginning in the early 1980's. I was one of the few people in the US to create video-game type graphics on microcomputers when micros were a novelty and I was deeply involved in computer programing since its humble beginnings. And after playing hundreds of video games through out my lifetime, this year has been the first time ever that I have played a game repeatedly in its entirety (over one dozen times) which has inspired and stirred my imagination both in story telling and action like MASS EFFECT. I patiently await for the second part to this amazing saga as well as to the entire trilogy's release. It has been an amazing experience (going beyond any other game in recent history including The Halo Trilogy) and can only hope that the developers continue to poored their hard work, hearts, and imagination in the remaining two installments. MASS EFFECT has done the nearly impossible: give me a sense of deep hope for what the gaming industry can and is to become.
