Kingdom Come: Deliverance, a CryEngine-powered first-person, open-world realistic RPG set in Medieval Europe, reached its Kickstarter funding goal of $300,000 in just 36 hours, developer Warhorse Studios has announced.

The game sees a humble, young blacksmith lose everything to war. As he tries to fulfil the dying wish of his father, he's dragged into a conspiracy to save a kidnapped king and stop a bloody conflict.

Players will wander the world, fighting as a knight, lurking in the shadows as a rogue, or using the bard's charm to persuade people to your cause.

"And so it happens, just 36 hours into our Kickstarter campaign we have reached our goal!" wrote the 30-person studio based in Prague.

"That's really, absolutely, mind-blowingly thrilling. We cannot stress strongly enough how grateful we are to all of you."

What's interesting about this particular Kickstarter is that the developer was using it not only to part-fund the game, but also as a way to prove to its financial backer that the project was worth continuing with.

"This resounding confirmation of what we've been working on for almost two years just makes everything worthwhile. We are happy -- and privileged - to be working on this project and we want to make the best possible game we can, for you."

The $300,000 funding goal only represents around 10 per cent of the game budget, with the rest provided by the studio's private investor. It's also been confirmed that "every penny we make above the Kickstarter goal will stay with us and will go toward making Kingdom Come: Deliverance better."

PC, Xbox One, PS4, Mac and Linux versions are planned, with the PC, Mac and Linux versions arriving first in Q4 2015.

Not surprised after all the attention it got from media sites :P.

The game looks interesting, apparently sports similar gameplay to Dark Souls so I am very intrigued. This is defiantly a game to watch out for in the coming months.
