The EA Play Label and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have announced that two Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows video games are in development to coincide with the final adventure in the Harry Potter film series - to be told in two full-length parts.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 will be released this autumn on all major gaming platforms, taking the action outside of Hogwarts for the first time. On the run with a horde of merciless enemies on their tail, players will find themselves in unknown territory, far from the safety of the school grounds, fighting for survival at every turn.

"The final Harry Potter adventure has given us the opportunity to make a darker and more action-oriented game than we have before," said Jonathan Bunney, VP, Head of Production at EA Bright Light. "We believe we are creating a Harry Potter game that the HD console gaming generation will appreciate and enjoy. We have built new technology specifically to allow us to prove that magic is a truly potent force and, in this game, players will need to use all their skills if they want to survive."

A new game engine built specifically to leverage the technology of the PS3 and Xbox 360 promises to ensure high definition graphics and intense combat gameplay that will immerse players in the action like never before.

In addition to versions for Xbox 360 and PS3, Deathly Hallows - Part 1 and 2 are also in development for Wii, Nintendo DS and PC.

I have all the books and have all the films. Played pretty much all the games too. Yeah, they aren't your Gears of War physique, but however. Deathly Hollows has potential to be a good send off. Order Of The Pheonix & Blood Half Prince weren't bad games. It was good that EA went back to the exploring of Hogwarts, which I think they got Goblet Of Fire totally all wrong with no exploring.

The only concerns I will have with Deathly Hollows is:

Pricing as of it come through part 1 & 2. Will DLC provide the second part?
Is Deathly Hollows going to be on a set-path like Goblet Of Fire was? If so, then maybe RPG elements to make up for the no exploring. Exp points you can upgrade Harry's, wand, re-actions and etc.

Didn't say I'd look childish. Said I'd be accused of grooming. Not surprised you've read them being a Child Molester and all lol.

Read the books! Who cares if they make you seem childish? They're really not, they're incredible and make the films look like horse ****.

I wonder if this one will be any good. I like the films not read the books as I'm over 12 and if someone saw me with 1 I'd be accused of grooming. So far he games have been mediocre.
