IESB reports that studio executives have confirmed that Steven Spielberg is in negotiations to produce a feature film adaptation of Microsoft's Halo franchise under his Dreamworks umbrella.
The ET and Indiana Jones director is said to be blown away by the Halo: The Fall of Reach script penned by Stuart Beattie. IESB also suggests that Dreamworks is looking for a tent pole release after losing Transformers to Paramount when the two separated.
A Halo movie had previously been in development under the production of Peter Jackson with Neil Blomkamp (District 9) to direct.
