Bungie has revealed that, as of October 30, more than four billion games of Halo 2 have been played over Xbox Live.
It's not really all that surprising that Halo 2 has reached such an impressive milestone; after all, the game achieved first-day sales of $125 million and went on to sell in excess of 7.4 million units worldwide.
4 billion games is impressive enough in its own right, but it's even more impressive when you think back about half a year to when Bungie was celebrating 500 million games played. Sticking with the number four, Halo 2 is also very close to logging four million unique players.
Despite being an Xbox title, Halo 2 is consistently the most played title on Xbox Live, easily fending off newcomers on the Xbox 360.
