A delay of a few weeks in Vista's schedule means that the new OS won't be available this year, with new Vista PCs now set for January 2007.
Microsoft had planned a large advertising campaign for its new operating system, with a launch pencilled in for late this year, but things aren't going quite to plan. Gamers might not be all that interested in the delay or the operating system, but Halo 2 will launch exclusively for Vista. This delay now means that PC gamers aren't likely to see the port of the smash hit Xbox game until next year.
Of course, Microsoft could still capitalise on the key Christmas buying season by making the game compatible with Windows XP, but it seems unlikely given the game's importance in the Vista marketing campaign.
