Half-Life 2: Episode One News

For:PC Release Date: 1 June 2006

The latest issue of PC Gamer in the US has revealed some new information on what to expect in the next installment.

If you don't want to spoil Episode 2 then it's advisable you stop reading this news now, but for those that simply must know what's going to happen, please read on.

First off, Alyx is alive. Woooot! In the second episode we can also look forward to loads of new environments, including a mine shaft and a missile silo. Puzzles will once again make an appearance, but they'll be the most difficult to solve yet. An emphasis is also said to be on combat, with a new weapon and big battle sequences.

Half-Life 2: Episode 2 is due before Christmas, but don't be too surprised if it suffers from a typical Valve Software delay.

I think I had much better than you...

A variety of environments will eschew the diversity of Episode 1, a mine shaft included. We also here talk of a Gravity Gun enhancement, not to mention something new called the Strider Buster. Which sounds exciting. There will also be a new vehicle for our heroes to drive, which will be capable of ramming through swathes of Mini Striders. As well as a whole smorgasbord of new action, the game promises to deliver a little more plot exposition, with revelations about the Vortigaunts and G-Man mooted.

Perhaps more tantalising still, is the prospect of a new mystery 'multiplayer game', which Valve have yet to lift the lid on.

Yeah, I had alot of crashes and freezes as well. I bought a new computer and EP1 runs fine so now I can't wait until EP2. I watched the trailer and it looks AWESOME.

I hope the game plays better than the first. I had so many crashes and frame freezes. I almost had to reboot my computer.
