Epic's new game to be revealed next Thursday

It's on Xbox 360.

Epic's next game will be revealed on US telly next Thursday.

According to a tweet from TV host Jimmy Fallon, Gears of War design director Cliff Bleszinski will debut the title on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

The tweet reads: "Game designer Cliff Bleszinski (@therealcliffyb) debuts his new game on Late Night next Thur. Set your TiVos! And your Xboxes."

The tweet gives little away, although we can deduce that the yet-to-be-revealed title will be an Xbox 360 game.

Could it be Gears of War 3?

Whatever is being revealed its now been bumped till Monday. Cliffy B says he is Polishing the content. The Internet says he was bumped for Justin Bieber lol.

I hope it is Gears 3 so they have a chance to redeem themselves from gears 2. For me it was not as good as the first. It had good ideas like chainsaw fights but really it wasn't as ground breaking as GOW1 when it hit so here's hoping its GOW3

That was the Unreal Engine wasn't it? They are working on a new engine but it won't be ready for years until standard processors etc catch up.

I personally love everything epic puts out there PC support must be a pain for users but I think that when Gears 1 sold 6mil on 360 and only 1.5mil on PC but online servers recorded ten times the amount of people playing the lack of PC support was inevitable. To quote Cliffy again:

I agree sorry. I know around 10 PC gamers of them 1 will buy every game he owns. 5 or so will buy certain games but download most and the remaining wont buy anything and they are the more savvy.

With that dicks influence i doubt they'll be working on any new PC games for awhile, they already confirmed they wont be going back to Unreal for many, many years, you know, the series that established the company and was actually good.

Cliffy B has been the lead designer on Gears Franchise for last 4 years. So yer he isn't likely to be working on much else.

You should be targeting anger at Tim Sweeney, Mark Rein or Mike Capps.
Epic are a company that needs to turn a profit like any other. So obviously the GOW franchise and 360 is key to their business goal atm.

Machetazo

Without a mainstay games announcing platform (like E3), and perhaps to prevent Epic becoming considered the Gears of War studio, I think it more likely to be a new XBLA title. Perhaps, though, it is one intended to finally demolish any lingering doubt of the scale and scope of game you can serve from XBLA. Somewhere between full-retail and XBLA, would be my, admittedly vague, guess.
