The first RTS Shooter?

Freeze Interactive and Digital Reality announce Field Ops, supposedly the first ever real-time-strategy shooter.

RTS and FPS are two of the most popular PC gaming genres, so why not combine them? This is what Freeze Interactive has done with their forthcoming action title 'Field Ops'. How this combination is going to work in the game is unclear, but you'll be able to fight in the air, on ground and over water, plus take part in a number of multiplayer game modes.

It's certainly an ambitious project, but we'll have to wait until November 2006 to see how it turns out.
