Konami has published its six month financial report for the period ended September 30, 2010, revealing sales figures for a number of its major releases.

Over the period, Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2 was the publisher's biggest hit, shifting 1.28 million units in Japan. The game's yet to see a release in other territories.

Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days also sold over a million units, the bulk of its 1.12 million total coming from Europe (710,000 units).

Final Fantasy XIV shifted 630,000 units, Just Cause 2 managed 560,000 units and Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep sold 510,000 units.

On Final Fantasy XIV Online's problems Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada said: "We're quickly working on reforms. We'd like to put our full power into regaining trust."

VideoGamer.com Analysis

For a game which launched in such a broken state, Final Fantasy XIV shifting over 600,000 units is pretty impressive, but its long-term success remains an uphill task.

The relatively poor sales of Kane & Lynch 2 in North America will also be a major concern for the publisher, coming in at approximately 50 per cent of the total managed across Europe. In April 2009 Eidos announced that sales of the first game were just shy of two million units.
