Hoping that Far Cry 3 might be coming to Wii U? Don’t hold your breath. Ubisoft says it’s concentrating on versions for the other three platforms first – though the publisher hasn’t ruled out the possibility, either.

“That all remains to be seen, to be honest,” said Jamie Keen, lead designer on the open world shooter. “Right now we’ll concentrate on those three lead SKUs [PC, PS3 and Xbox 360], and we’ll have to see how it goes from there.”

But surely, what with Gearbox bringing Colonial Marines to the platform, and Ubisoft offering an as-yet detailed version of Assassin’s Creed, that’s a sign that the Wii U could showcase more mature games than its family-orientated predecessor?

“I’m afraid I’m going to be super evasive on this one!” laughed Keen. “I think the possibilities of Wii U… I think it opens up a new realm of possibilities for more mature titles, but for now we’re concentrating on those three SKUs.”

Recently Ubisoft said Far Cry 3 will be 10 times the scale of its predecessor.

Far Cry 3 is due for release in 2012.
