Ubisoft has announced that it will publish Faces of War, a World War II squad-based RTS for the PC.

Faces of War, previously known ad Outfront II, is a World War II squad-based RTS for the PC and is developed by Best Way, whose previous work includes Soldiers: Heroes of World War II. Players take command of American, English, Soviet and German troops and will fight in famous battles such as the Normandy Invasion, the Battle of the Bulge and the Battle of Berlin. Each battle is said to have been recreated with "shocking detail."

"With Faces of War, Ubisoft is bringing an intensely exciting title to PC gamers," said Jay Cohen, vice president of publishing at Ubisoft. "The game brings an enhanced human and emotional element to the World War II genre and delivers breathtaking detail and spectacular game play."

Thanks to an advanced A.I. system, soldiers won't simply carry out commands, but will actually think about how to carry out a task in the most efficient and safe way. Faces of War is currently pencilled in for a March 2006 release.
