Bit sloppy really, sounds like no more than loose connections. but it can't be that difficult to solder wires and make them stay there lol.

It's a real shame because the Keytar is such a quality piece of kit. Did I mention you can also use it to play the Guitar and Bass parts as well? :D

My first set the Xbox button that brings the dash up just kept activating itself and on the second set one of the cymbals had a delayu in registering the hits - it was only a split second but it was enough that it kept dropping the multiplier back to zero. I checked the calibration and even thought that maybe my timing was off but I moved the cymbal from the Crash position to the hi hat and it was the same.

I found that when I played Guitar Hero drums. Having 3 on the bottom is really confusing!

I played some regular Keys for a bit to get a feel, then switched to Pro Keys and it's seriously difficult. There aren't enough songs with keys though :(

Just curious, how have the pro drums been faulty? I still have a set of the original RB drums with silencers working fine. I figured the Pro Drums with be the RB2 drums that we never got + the cymbal sets. The RB2 drums were supposed to be a big improvement in consistency and reliability.

Not having all of the instruments available is just a poor start. I've actually had two sets of the pro drums now and both have been faulty. I've now had a refund and will wait for either the new Ion Kit to become available over here or better still wait for the midi thingy to be available so that any electronic kit is compatible.
The bit of Pro drumming I got to do was great fun though - and bloody difficult too - after a couple of years of playing with just the regular four pads using the cymbals and switching for toms is really quite tricky!

The Keytar is WELL worth £70. I'd almost claim it's worth £100 if it had one more octave. It's a seriously impressive piece of kit, very solid, very accurate. It's a proper instrument.

The Gamestation i got mine from said they only had two Keytars for 360. I can't believe the pro guitar isn't out at launch, thats the WHOLE draw for most people that want it.

Ohhh it's probably the midi connection thing then. I guess that's fair enough, not that it will make them any money but there you go xD

HMX have awkwardly positioned themselves too far out of reach for most gamers with the complexity of the instruments, and musicians will view this as a teaching tool, and one from a game developer at that. I'm really interested to see what direction their next game goes in...

The keyboard has a touch panel, tilt sensors, 25 keys as well as the usual controller keys and a midi connection so you can use it on a PC.

I know... well dear isn't it. Certainly not going to help sell a genre of game that already has a lot of people wanting it to be killed off!

One of the highest rated games recently on Metacritic and it can't shift 10K copies on launch - woeful!

holy balls! I didn't know the keyboard was that much!! I thought it'd be £50 at most because it's really basic, much more than the guitars which now have touch panels, tilt sensors, whammy bars and loads of buttons.

Ooh, those figures really are going to sting Harmonix - I already don't respect them as devs because of the way they handled to UK Rock Band 1 launch so pathetically abysmally - and I spoke with John Drake on several occasions regarding this, and their arrogance came back to bite them in the arse.

The best strategy is bigger DLC packs - with a new venue or two, based around a particular band or genre - 6-12 tracks apiece. That is what I would do.

I was reading some of the comments on Eurogamers article and it appears that there are a fair few people that couldn't get hold of the instruments so therefore didn't buy it. and the fact that the Pro Guitar isn't released for another month (for the crappy one) or 6 months for the Fender one hasn't helped either.

(but I do hope the Keytar price drops - as £70 is a bit steep!)

Hmm, surely won't they be saving up for BLops or GT5

Oooh, this does mean, however, that retailers will be trying to get rid of keytars for like a fiver xD excellent.
