Europa Universalis III is the much anticipated new chapter in the acclaimed strategy series and looks to extend the critical acclaim bestowed on the previous two games in the series.

The game spans a historically accurate period of global history from 1453 to 1789 and delves into areas of exploration, trade, warfare and diplomacy, with players taking control of any nation and embarking on an epic journey to become a great global empire.

Players are given total freedom in how to rule their nation, be it with diplomacy and extensive trading, or perhaps with a strong industrial base and formidable army and navy support.

Europa Universalis III is scheduled for release in Q1 2007 across Europe.

I loved EU 2, it was domination on a global scale. There was something magical about being at war with a nation, then getting embroiled in disputes with other nations, and fighting wars against multiple enemies at the same time. Called for some juggling of resources and tactical retreats. Lovely stuff.

In fact, all I want from the next title is a bit more stategy when going to war; to add something that makes it a bit more engaging.
