Multi-core performance enhancements and new units.
SEGA today announced that update 1.3 for Creative Assembly's Empire: Total War will be released on Monday, June 22.
The update includes the implementation of multi-threading, which promises to significantly benefit players that use multi-core processors. Additionally, the update is said to greatly improve performance on single core machines.
The update also brings increased diversity to the playable factions, with 14 new units included that will replace the "generic" equivalents.

Plenty of positive and much needed changes in those patch notes. Good timing as well I've just started a new long campaign as the Austrians and the Polish have been making a nuisance of themselves.
