Sierra unveils Empire Earth III

Sierra Entertainment has announced that Empire Earth III is currently in development for PC.

The multi-million selling real-time strategy series, Empire Earth, has been confirmed to return for a third game. The RTS sequel is being developed by Mad Doc Software and will build on the success of Empire Earth II.

"The Empire Earth series has been the recipient of much deserved praise from the media and fans alike, making it a multi-million unit selling franchise for Sierra Entertainment," said Cindy Cook, chief strategy and marketing officer for Vivendi Games. "Empire Earth III will take the series to the next level with its ability to capture the entire scope of the globe and give it to the hands of the player."

Empire Earth III will enable players to build an empire from the ancient world to the distant future as you battle across the globe in a bid for world domination.

The game is currently expected to hit stores in the autumn.
