EA's BioWare development studio announced last night that its upcoming role-playing game Dragon Age on PC will now be released alongside the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions between October and December 2009.

"Dragon Age: Origins is shaping up to be quite amazing in its level of quality and polish," said Dr. Ray Muzyka, General Manager and CEO, BioWare and General Manager and Vice President, EA. "I'm really proud of our team, who are working very hard to make Dragon Age: Origins the biggest and most exciting BioWare game yet, and we will work to ensure it not only meets, but exceeds the expectations of our loyal audience of fans."

During its Q3 earnings call last night EA added: "... we're moving the PC launch to Q3 FY10 to coincide with the console launch, giving us the opportunity to make a bigger splash with this epic BioWare RPG title. Of course, the BioWare team will continue to polish the game for even greater quality."

Dragon Age: Origins is the spiritual successor to BioWare's critically acclaimed Baldur's Gate and promises to feature deep character customisation, morally challenging decisions, tactical party-based combat, and gritty, mature sub-plots.
