Eidos Montreal's Deus Ex: Human Revolution is following such a milestone in the history of video games that no matter what the dev team does, people will inevitably be disappointed to some extent, admits Square Enix communication and marketing director Sebastien Bisch.

Asked by VideoGamer.com if the game will live up to its huge expectations, Bisch said: "That's a tricky one. The marketing guy in me can tell you the risk when you're continuing a franchise what was such a milestone in the history of video games is that, pretty much whatever you do, you disappoint people to some extent.

"There's always going to be fans that, you know, it was a PC game, and now it's a console game, and we are adapting the gameplay not to the console players but to the fact that you play with a pad, as well as with a mouse and keyboard [on PC]."

Bisch added: "I think the way the dev team did it was to carefully play the first one and really try and understand the DNA of the franchise that made it so unique. That's why they tried to spend a lot of time at the beginning, really trying to define why people liked it so much."

From what we've seen, Desus Ex: Human Revolution is going to come mighty close to meeting those expectations.

The game's set for release early in 2011 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
