The International 2013 Dota 2 Championship in Seattle last week achieved a peak simultaneous online viewership of over one million gamers, doubling last year's record viewership, Valve has announced.
The one million figure represents a total of those who watched via Twitch, Gamefy (China), and Valve's services. The figure does not include those who viewed via international television broadcasts or viewers in attendance at the Pubstomp viewing events held in over 40 countries worldwide.
This year's tournament was again broadcast worldwide, free of charge, with play-by-play commentary in multiple languages.
Swedish team Alliance beat Na'Vi (Natus Vincere) to claim this year's top prize of $1.4 million at the Benaroya Hall in Seattle, WA.
